Tickets for all 5 caves in the Moravian Karst are sold by the Czech Caves Administration in three ways: online (eTickets via the Colosseum portal), by reservation through the Central Information Service at Skalní Mlýn (by phone, email or in person, up to a year in advance), and at the box office on the day of your visit. Only certain tour times are sold online, and online tickets are non-refundable. During the season and at weekends, you’ll often struggle to get a ticket for the Punkva Caves (Punkevní jeskyně) without booking ahead — buy it days or even weeks in advance.

Online tickets (eTickets)

Every cave has an Online Tickets link on its official website, leading to the Colosseum booking portal. Here are the direct links:

Worth knowing:

Booking via the Central Information Service at Skalní Mlýn

Through the Central Information Service (ÚIS) at Skalní Mlýn, individuals can book tickets only for the Punkva Caves and Kateřinská Cave, up to a year in advance. For the Punkva Caves, the Caves Administration specifically recommends booking ahead. For the other caves (Balcarka, Sloup-Šošůvka, Výpustek), only groups can make reservations, directly through the relevant cave’s contacts. Individuals need to buy online or at the box office instead.

Collection: you can pick up booked tickets at ÚIS at Skalní Mlýn, or at the Macocha information centre near the Horní můstek bridge (tel. +420 516 444 260; May to September 8am–4:30pm, until 5pm at weekends, in April and October weekends only). Allow yourself plenty of time to reach Skalní Mlýn, since from the car park it’s still 1.6 km on foot or a 10-minute ride on the little train to the Punkva Caves. More in our article Skalní Mlýn: parking, the little train and the cable car.

Wheelchair access to the Punkva Caves must be arranged in advance directly with the caves’ dispatch office. Details in our article Moravian Karst without barriers.

At the box office on the day

Tickets for tours not available online are bought at the cave’s box office during opening hours, by cash or card. At the other caves it’s generally easier to get a ticket on the spot than at the Punkva Caves, where in summer you shouldn’t rely on buying on the day.

20% discount: if you show a ticket from another Moravian Karst cave at the box office (no older than one month), you’ll get a 20% discount on your next entry. This doesn’t apply to the Punkva Caves, but a Punkva Caves ticket will get you the discount at the others — so it’s worth visiting the Punkva Caves first. Discounts can’t be combined. Multisport card holders get a discount of 140 Kč (children 120 Kč). Prices at Balcarka and Výpustek are lower from November to March. Family tickets and further details can be found in the 2026 cave price list.

Our tips

  1. Sort out the Punkva Caves first. Plan the rest of your day and the other caves around your slot there.
  2. Only buy online once your time slot is confirmed. There are no refunds.
  3. Sold out online? Try calling ÚIS. Only some tours are sold online.
  4. Allow extra time. Parking, collecting tickets and walking or taking the little train to the cave all take time. The little train departs 20 minutes before each tour.
  5. Hold onto your tickets for the 20% discount at the other caves.
  6. Not sure which cave to choose? Our comparison of all 5 caves can help.
