The Magical Sounds of Macocha (Čarovné tóny Macochy) is a series of five concerts held right inside the caves of the Moravian Karst — in 2026 it runs from 3–7 June (marking its 27th year), with performers including Jiří Stivín, Vojtěch Dyk, Štefan Margita and the Spirituál kvartet. Tickets can be bought either in person at the information centre in Brno (Zámečnická 2), or online via Ticketportal — and two of the concerts announced so far for 2026 are already sold out.

The combination of music, cave acoustics and illuminated stalactites is an experience you simply won’t find anywhere else — the temperature in the caves stays around 6–8°C regardless of how hot it is outside, so bring a warm layer, just as you would for a regular cave tour.
2026 Programme
| Date | Cave | Performer |
|---|---|---|
| Wed 3 June | Sloup-Šošůvka Caves (Eliščina jeskyně) | Jiří Stivín — “Alone with His Shadow, Between Silence and Echo” |
| Thu 4 June | Výpustek (Jindřich Hall) | Vojtěch Dyk — “Intimacy with the Piano” (sold out) |
| Fri 5 June | Výpustek | Štefan Margita — “What a Wonder” |
| Sat 6 June | Kateřinská Cave | ARRHYTHMIA — rock/metal/pop with a light show |
| Sun 7 June | Punkva Caves (Mirror Lake) | Spirituál kvartet — “Music in the Heart of the Earth” (sold out) |
All concerts start at 6pm. Parking at Výpustek is limited, so shuttle buses from Křtiny are usually laid on for the occasion.
Tickets
Tickets can be bought either in person at the information centre at Zámečnická 2 in Brno, or online via Ticketportal.cz. Prices vary depending on the performer and seating type — roughly from around 760 CZK (approx. €30 — this is a rough guide only, as exchange rates fluctuate) for standing places to just under a thousand crowns for seated tickets at the more sought-after concerts. Given that two of the five 2026 dates were already sold out at the time of writing, it’s well worth booking early rather than leaving it to the last minute.
Other Night-time and Seasonal Tours
Besides the summer festival, the Sloup-Šošůvka Caves also offer occasional torchlit tours during the winter months (January–March, November–December) — a completely different experience from the standard illuminated tour, at the same admission price as the regular route. Dates are announced on an ongoing basis, so keep an eye on caves.cz for updates or ask directly at the ticket office.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the concert suitable for children? Artistically, yes — but bear in mind it’s an evening programme (starting at 6pm) held in a cold environment, which can be more demanding for younger children than a standard daytime tour.
Do I need a separate ticket for the cave tour? No, admission to the concert usually includes a shortened tour of the relevant cave.
Where can I find dates for future years? The official website www.carovnetonymacochy.cz and the news section on caves.cz — the festival takes place every year around the turn of May and June.
